Doug has a sixth sense for when anyone is feeding another cat within 500 feet of his house. We don’t know if it’s the sound of a can opening, the crinkle of the bag, or maybe the alluring scent. Whatever it is, Doug’s radar is uncanny, and he will come running to share a meal. He is, of course, always welcome!

In New York City, cats aren’t just in apartments. Many cats reside in stores or fire stations where the employees take care of their resident felines. This cat, Yang, has been living in a bodega since he was a kitten about eight years ago.

Nope, this isn’t Doug, but it was sure fun to meet one of his relatives! A friendly neighbor showed us her Doug look-alike, whom she has had for about the same number of years since we met Doug as a kitten. She is also spayed and lives as a mostly indoor cat right down the street from our Doug!

We met another family of five community cats who have been neutered and returned to live their lives at Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida. They are fed every day (some of them even look like they’re taking seconds!) and are a welcome part of the community. Go Fighting Knights!

Edward got into a bit of a scrape, which left him with a bad cut on his face. A fearless (and incredibly patient) rescuer finally managed to trap our dear hero. He has been treated by a vet and neutered, and although a bit cranky, is resting comfortably inside until that scary injury heals. We will keep you updated!

How sweet is Oreo? He is so sweet that, when he was found injured and dehydrated, he immediately started purring as soon as someone picked him up. He was so grateful to be rescued that he realized he needed to make his foster home a permanent situation. This was no easy feat, considering the four cats and two dogs that already took up permanent residence there. Nevertheless, he made his will known, and sure enough, he is a foster fail! Well done, Oreo!

This little gal began her life in a Target parking lot. She started following a woman around the parking lot, asking for help. The kind woman looked around but found no mom or other kittens. Not knowing what to do, she dropped Nugget off at Pet Supermarket. The store swooped in and called an amazing local rescuer. Now safe, Nugget enjoys her kittenhood and will be ready for adoption in the coming weeks. We will keep you posted!

While we can’t speak for all cats in the Bahamas, for these resort kitties, life really is better in the Bahamas. Cats at Atlantis are trapped, neutered, and released into a wonderful life of food and lots of attention from staff and guests alike. They have free range of the resort and keep the rodent population in check.

Our beloved Kitty has passed away. We've known her since 2016, and she greeted us with a chatty purr every time we saw her. She started to get noticeably thin, so we took her to the vet. Unfortunately, her liver was too far gone. Her last month with us was spent retired from the outdoors, getting pampered and loved, just as she deserved.

Bro Bro and Scaredy Cat aren’t just siblings, they’re best friends! Loved and cared for by their family, they give as much as they receive. As porch cats in Florida, they make sure their home is rodent free and offer lots of cuddles to their humans and, of course, each other.

Our Kitty has taken to dining in the golf cart instead of next to it. She clearly heard about the food truck trend and wanted to experience it. Good thing she’s a very neat eater. If Edward did this, there would have to be a nightly hose down of the cart!

Doug and Elijah have been buddies for years now. They like to relax in different places. Elijah loves to snuggle up under a bush, whereas Doug makes himself comfortable on top of cars or even in a golf cart. Although they are fed by different families on many nights, they make sure to get together for a dinner or two a week. Dinner for two anyone?

Look at the mess our rescue kitty Foxy got into! He found a way out of his screened porch and enjoyed the view from above. It clearly did not occur to Foxy that getting down might be harder than going up. Fortunately, with the help of a (very tall) ladder, Foxy made it safely back down and promptly fell asleep in his favorite chair in the living room.
